What is Domain Typo Finder and what can I do with it?
With Domain Typo Finder users can register typos of your domain name(s) before others do so. By entering your domain name, the Typo Finder will return common typos of the domain name and their current availability. Why is this tool helpful? Domain Typo Generator is helpful in monitoring domain names. With it users may monitor: Trademark and Copyright typos: Users can defensively register these domains before someone else registers them. Type-in traffic: This type of traffic may be discovered by registering typos of common words or phrases. Phishing and Fraud sites: May be found by seeing which typos of your domains have been registered.

Domain Typo Finder is free for DomainTools members to use. However, Novice members are more limited in access than paid members.

When you enter your domain into the Domain Typo Finder, DomainTools' powerful technology analyzes the domain and applies each other common set of typos to it, resulting in a list of typos and the availability of each one. Common typo sets include: 1. QWERTY keyboard slips (ie., "Uahoo" rather than "Yahoo") 2. Missing letters (ie., "Yhoo" rather than "Yahoo") 3. Double letters (ie., "Yahooo" rather than "Yahoo") 4. Letter Swapping (ie., "Yhaoo" rather than "Yahoo") 5. Look-alike letters/numbers(ie., "Yah00" rather than "Yahoo") 6. Extra or missing hyphens(ie., "Domain-Tools" rather than "DomainTools") Combine our typo finder tool with Reverse IP, Name Server Reports and Reverse Whois to get the most powerful fraud investigation tool on the Internet.
Top of page ^How can I search for and view typos?
You may search for typos by: Availability: Select only registered domain, only available domains, or both. Type of Typo: Select all or any of the following: Qwerty typos, Letter Swap, Sticky Keys, Look Alikes You may view typos by: TLD: See which typos have been registered in the 6 supported TLDs and register the ones that are still available. DNS: Sortable view showing the name server and IP address of each typo. Use this view to see which typos you already own. Registrant: Sortable view showing the registrant of each typo and how many domains they own. Use this view to find how active a certain registrant has been in registering your typos.

Domain Typo Finder supports .COM, .ORG, .INFO, .NET, .Biz, and .US domains.

QWERTY is the most commonly used keyboard layout. It refers to the 6 letters in the top right corner of the modern-day English keyboard. A QWERTY typo occurs when a domain is misspelled and one or more letters is replaced with a letter adjacent to it on the keyboard. For example, "FomainTools" is input into search, rather than "DomainTools".
Top of page ^How do I purchase domains I find using the Typo Finder?
To purchase domain typos: 1. Enter your domain name in the Domain Typo Finder Search box. 2. Select 'Available Only' domains. 3. Select 'TLD View' from the view drop-down box. 4. Click Submit. A list of typo domains appears. 5. Click the White Circle Symbol of the appropriate TLD located next to the typo you wish to purchase. When scrolled over, the White Circle reads 'Buy This'. You will be re-directed to an ICANN registrar where you may enter payment information to secure the domain purchase.
